About
ImageAbout Us

Mike’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Company is a family owned and operated business. Along with my wife, Shelley, our two daughters Brooke and Launa, our son Nate, and Brooke’s boyfriend Tyler we are in the business to “make memories happen.” We feel that our homemade ice cream is the best there is to offer. Customers tell us that it is the best they’ve had and many say it reminds them of the kind that their grandparent’s made. We feel that using quality products including dairy products from a local dairy farmer and a 150 year old family recipe is the key to our continued growth and success. Our best advertising agent is what powers our ice cream buckets, a 1929 John Deere hit and miss antique engine. It is one of two units that we use in our operation. The second unit is a water wheel mixing unit and soon to join those units will be a McCormick Deereing unit. We are all Iowa natives and knew Iowa was a great place to grow this business. We look forward to selling our products here which will help the local and state government. Please continue on in our website and have a look at our photo album. If you have any questions, please drop us an email.

Mike's Proudly uses locally produced Sheeder Dairy Products
Our homemade ice cream is made the old-fashioned way with cream, milk, a 150 year old family recipe for the mix, ice and salt. One of the things we have changed is that we do not hand crank our ice cream. We make our ice cream in 5 gallon stainless steel containers powered by a 1929 John Deere engine. Our customers that that this is the best homemade ice cream that they have had, plus they get the pleasure of hearing and watching the engine do it’s work. We have fresh strawberries for topping and also have homemade chocolate topping. Whether you like just the ice cream or want some with the toppings, we get extreme pleasure in watching the reactions of our customers.
