 About Us
Mike’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Company is a family owned and operated business. Along with my wife, Shelley, our two daughters Brooke and Launa, our son Nate, and Brooke’s boyfriend Tyler we are in the business to “make memories happen.” We feel that our homemade ice cream is the best there is to offer. Customers tell us that it is the best they’ve had and many say it reminds them of the kind that their grandparent’s made. We feel that using quality products including dairy products from a local dairy farmer and a 150 year old family recipe is the key to our continued growth and success. Our best advertising agent is what powers our ice cream buckets, a 1929 John Deere hit and miss antique engine. It is one of two units that we use in our operation. The second unit is a water wheel mixing unit and soon to join those units will be a McCormick Deereing unit. We are all Iowa natives and knew Iowa was a great place to grow this business.
